Google To Enter FTSE Indices

Google, the Internet search engine, which started trading on NASDAQ on Thursday 19th August, will be added to FTSE indices on Wednesday 25th August. The company has been classified as 974 (Internet) by the FTSE Global Classification System (GCS), which is used by NASDAQ to classify all new companies which list on its market.

Google will be added to a range of FTSE indices, including FTSE US Large Cap, FTSE All-World, FTSE Global Islamic, FTSE Multinational and FTSE Global Style indices.

A market cap of $29.375 billion makes Google the second largest company in its sector in the FTSE US Large Cap index.
