Global Municipal Leaders Open Trading At Tel Aviv Stock Exchange

Date 20/11/2025

This morning, TASE hosted an opening bell ceremony to honor a delegation of over 20 Mayors and municipal heads from 15 nations. The leaders arrived in Israel this week for the 34th International Mayors Conference of the American Jewish Congress, held in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The ceremony was also attended by Daniel Rosen, President of the American Jewish Congress, and Ittai Ben-Zeev, TASE CEO.

The event at TASE underscores the profound trust and respect global leaders have for the strength and resilience of the Israeli economy. The Mayoral participants included leaders from Leeds (UK), Debrecen (Hungary), Beverly Hills, Miami Beach, Lubbock, Aventura, and Sunny Isles Beach (USA), Kumasi (Ghana), Santa Marta and Pitalito (Colombia), Monrovia (Liberia), and other delegates from Romania, Albania, Czechia, Paraguay, and more.

Now in its 34th year, the International Mayors Conference is a vital platform connecting world leaders with Israel's dynamic economy and innovation, along with its national and municipal model for recovery following the October 7 attack and the "Swords of Iron" war. Established in 1918, the American Jewish Congress is one of the world's most enduring and influential Jewish organizations, dedicated to promoting human rights, tolerance, and reinforcing Israel's standing internationally.

Daniel Rosen, President of the American Jewish Congress, said at the ceremony: “The American Jewish Congress has spent decades promoting Jewish communal security, civil diplomacy, and strengthening global ties with Israel. We place significant value on continuing these partnerships. This meeting with TASE offers a unique perspective on the Israeli economy and highlights opportunities for deeper collaboration between international cities, financial institutions, and innovation drivers. We appreciate the opportunity to learn, partner, and build bridges toward a stable, secure, and innovation-driven future.

The visit to TASE is a significant moment for our delegation, and demonstrates the power of the encounter between local leadership and the growth engines of the Israeli economy. Israel has repeatedly demonstrated its ability to combine resilience, stability, and innovation even during challenging periods. Mayors from 15 countries around the globe gathered here to witness firsthand how Israeli technologies, AI solutions, and advanced urban planning are becoming practical tools for improving city management and strengthening the communities they lead.”

Ambassador Dan Oryan, Director of Civil Diplomacy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: “The Ministry of Foreign Affairs views this delegation, led by the AJC in partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as a highly significant initiative at a crucial moment for Israel. Introducing the Mayors to the events of October 7 and the war, while simultaneously highlighting the resilience and spirit of the people behind Israel's recovery, creates opportunities and provides substantive international support. The AJC’s commendable work persists in times of peace and during moments of trial when Israel is battling terrorism and war.”

Ittai Ben-Zeev, CEO of TASE: “We are proud to welcome the esteemed delegation of Mayors and municipal leaders from 15 countries worldwide here at the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange. I would like to express my gratitude to the American Jewish Congress, the organizers of the International Mayors Conference, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs representatives, for their visit and for recognizing the strategic importance of TASE, which stands at the core of the Israeli capital market and represents the nation’s economic resilience. The Israeli economy is a global standard for resilience and innovation. Your support for Israel, particularly after such a complex period, is deeply appreciated. We at TASE remain committed to showcasing the Israeli economy to the world and bringing in substantial international investments."
