New Zealand Exchange Limited (NZX) announced today the inclusion of Glass Earth Limited (NZX: GEL) in the NZX SciTech Index.
Glass Earth is a New Zealand based gold exploration company focused on discovery and development of gold and other mineral deposits in New Zealand and was the first Overseas Listed Issuer to join the NZAX Market earlier this month.
Glass Earth Managing Director, Simon Henderson said, "Glass Earth is leading a revival of gold exploration in New Zealand by using cutting edge specialist geo-science technologies to deliver geological insights assisting in the discovery of new mineral deposits. We are therefore proud to join the NZX SciTech Index and its listed companies who share our commitment to continuous innovation."
The NZX SciTech Index is up 16.7% year to date (since 31 December 2005), compared with a return of 8.8% from the headline NZX 50 Index.
This index addition will be made at the Monthly Index Update, effective from the opening of trading on 1 November 2006.
