Genscape Announces Major Expansion To VesselTracker AIS Network With 436 Additional Antennas - Through The World’s Largest Proprietary Terrestrial And Satellite Network, Genscape VesselTracker Integrates Commodity And Energy Fundamentals With AIS Data To Complete The Global Supply Chain Picture

Date 10/06/2014

Genscape, the leading global provider of energy information for commodity and energy markets, has today announced the addition of 436 new AIS antennas to the Genscape VesselTracker terrestrial network, concentrating on U.S. inland waterways and coastal regions with additional coverage outside the continent in Mexico, Canada, Latin America, and the Persian Gulf.

With this new expansion, the AIS network will now cover every commercial port in the U.S. and approximately 90% of U.S. inland waterways. As a result, Genscape VesselTracker can tie-in fundamental energy and supply chain intelligence with AIS data, collecting real-time information on ship location, speed, and direction to provide unique supply-chain perspectives to customers. In conjunction with Genscape’s existing oil market services, customers can complete the supply picture from production/storage, to export from the U.S.

Simon Toyne, Business Development Executive at Genscape VesselTracker, a pioneer of tanker FFA trading with 25 years Commercial Shipping experience, including senior positions at Esso Petroleum, Goldman Sachs, HETCO and AET said:

“Genscape VesselTracker is now the clear global leader in providing AIS maritime data. This significant antenna network expansion is a great example of Genscape VesselTracker’s commitment to continual growth and development of services, ensuring that customers enjoy the most comprehensive and robust AIS maritime data available. In my experience, the best decisions are always based on the best information, and Genscape VesselTracker provide the best AIS maritime data available.”
