Following a 24-hour strike by French energy unions that EDF warned of earlier this week, it was monitored that the strike did not bring drastic power price increases despite a 5,181 MW reduction in generation availability.
Genscape’s latest blog post, “After the Strike: French Power Price Increase Falls Short,” explains that, although intraday prices far exceeded Day Ahead Market prices during the morning peak hours of the strike, the price increase was still dwarfed by market activity observed January 19-25.
