Monday's (1 September 2003) volume in the FTSEurofirst 100 index futures contract was over double that traded in the DJ Stoxx 50 that day.
FTSEurofirst derivatives also traded a record week, in the week commencing 25 August 2003. A total of more than 30,000 contracts were traded representing an increase of over 90% on the previous highest week's total of 16,000 contracts. Since the launch ten weeks ago the contracts have traded over 140,000 contracts.

We have seen a very encouraging growth in volumes since launch and very tight spreads of 1 and 2 ticks. The growing volumes in the FTSEurofirst are now attracting the attention of more and more users of Euro index products."
