FTSE/Xinhua Create Tradable A Share Index

FTSE/Xinhua (FXI), the China index specialist, today announces the creation of a tradable A share index, the FXI A50 Index. The FXI A50, will join the successful FTSE/Xinhua Index Series, and will launch in January 2004. It is designed specifically to meet the needs of Qualified Foreign Institutional Investors (QFIIs), participating in China's A share market.
