The FTSE Techmark 100 is at its highest level since the 12th of March 2001. Currently at 1935 points, it still has a long way to go to get back to its peak of 5743.3 (reached on 6th of March 2000).
"The Techmark is a leading indicator of the recovery to come. While everyone is still fretting about the credit crunch and a possible double dip recession, the FTSE Techmark is at a nine year high and about to break the 2000 level for the first time since the dotcom crash. While the Techmark might not be the “real economy” it certainly represents the future of our economy."
