League tables of all companies in the FTSE World Europe Index over the last 1 and 5 years have been compiled. The results of the Shareholder Value Awards and the league tables were published in full in The Financial Times. Mark Makepeace, FTSE Managing Director said: "FTSE calculates share indices on stock markets worldwide for the benefit of all market users. Our indices provide a framework in which investors, investment banks and companies can all work together. The purpose of the Awards is to recognise those companies in Europe which are providing their shareholders with the best returns.

As FTSE continues to develop its dominance in the European market, recently highlighted by Euronext adopting the FTSE Global Classification System, we hope next year's European Shareholder Value Awards will be even more successful."
