- Aled Jones appointed Head of Sustainable Investment, EMEA
- Dr Rory Sullivan joins as Interim Head of ESG Standards and Innovation FTSE Russell, the global index, data and analytics provider, today announces the appointment of two leading Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) specialists in London.
Aled Jones joins FTSE Russell as Head of Sustainable Investment for the EMEA region, working with FTSE Russell’s clients, especially, asset owners and asset managers, to support their ESG investment strategies. This will include input into new and evolving ESG methodologies and product development in collaboration with FTSE Russell’s research, product and business development teams.
Dr Rory Sullivan has joined as Interim Head of ESG Standards and Innovation. He will be working with the team to develop research and to further define market standards and ESG methodologies, along with collaborations in the market place.
Rory and Aled will both report into David Harris, Head of Sustainable Investment at FTSE Russell and Group Head of Sustainable Business at London Stock Exchange Group.

Aled joins FTSE Russell from Mercer where he has had a number of senior roles including Head of Responsible Investment for Europe, Middle East and Africa. Aled has more than 15 years' experience of ESG integration into institutional investment, having held roles across the investment chain; from research at Innovest, to fund management at Jupiter, through to heading ESG at two pension funds, LPFA and PPF. Aled has served on the board of the UK's Sustainable Investment and Finance Association and the executive committee of the Local Authority Pension Fund Forum.
Dr Rory Sullivan
Rory is an internationally recognised expert and author on responsible investment, and climate change. He has over twenty years experience including as head of responsible investment at Insight Investment. His recent projects include working with the Principles for Responsible Investment on its Fiduciary Duty in the 21st Century project, acting as expert advisor to the Transition Pathway Initiative and working with the UN Global Compact to develop advice for companies on the strategies they can adopt to manage the impacts of investor short-termism on corporate sustainability.
