In February, the FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index fell 0.5 per cent, however, the index is up 9.5 per cent for 2018.
Investors in listed exchange were shaken from January’s euphoria and a new record closing high for the index by a burst of market volatility in February.
Herbie Skeete, Managing Director, Mondo Visione and also Co-founder of the Index said:
"Exchanges continue to experience strong volume growth in most asset classes, driven in part by the intense volatility in the first two months of the year. Fears of rising inflation may spur central banks to pick up their pace of interest-rate increases triggering higher market volatility.”
The Index closed at 51,993.90 on 28 February 2018, down from 52,239.63 on 31 January 2018. Over 12 months, the Index has increased by 34.4 per cent.
