FTSE Launches FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Europe REITs Index

FTSE Group (FTSE), the global index provider, has today enhanced its leading global real estate index series with the launch of FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Europe REITs and Non-REITs indices, suitable for the creation of financial products, such as index funds, warrants, certificates and ETFs.

Calculated on a daily basis, and disseminating every 15 seconds, these two new indices will sit within the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global REITs and Non-REITs Index Series which enables investors to differentiate REIT from Non-REIT constituents within the EPRA/NAREIT universe according to country-specific REIT legislation.

At launch, the FTSE EPRA/NAREIT European REITs index includes 36 companies from 6 countries across Europe. The table below provides full country and market capitalisation breakdown as at 18 June 2007:

The FTSE EPRA/NAREIT Global REITs and Non-REITs Index Series is a sub-set of the Global Real Estate Index Series. The index design is based on FTSE’s world class index standards. The indices are transparent, free float adjusted, and are calculated in accordance with the Industry Classification Benchmark (ICB).
