Four new equity index funds from the ETF offering issued by SPDR (State Street Global Advisors) have been tradable in Deutsche Börse's XTF segment on Xetra since Thursday.
The four new SPDR ETFs enable investors to participate in the performance of stock corporations using a value-weighted strategy. Investors can choose between the MSCI Europe, MSCI Europe Small Cap, MSCI USA and MSCI USA Small Cap base indices.
The value-weighted strategy uses three main criteria to assess the value of a company: the share price in relation to expected future profit, the share price in relation to the book value and the company value in relation to operating cashflow. This gives companies deemed to be undervalued according to the value-weighted strategy a higher weighting than in the base index.
The product offering in Deutsche Börse’s XTF segment currently comprises a total of 1,049 exchange traded funds. This selection, together with an average monthly trading volume of around €11 billion, makes Xetra Europe’s leading trading venue for ETFs.
