Forstædernes Bank Becomes A Member Of The Copenhagen Stock Exchange

Date 15/11/2001

Forstædernes Bank has become a member of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange and commences trading on Monday 10 December. Forstædernes Bank is the twelfth new member of the Stock Exchange this year, and there are now 49 active member firms.

Executive Bank Manager Niels Fessel says: "In the past years there has been a great influx of new investment customers into our bank, and the total volume of trade via the Copenhagen Stock Exchange has more than doubled. During the same period, the finance and investment section of the bank has more than doubled its staff, among other things in order to be able to comply with the increased interest shown by our customers. Consequently, we feel that now is the time to take a new step and become a member of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange."

The justification for the existence of Forstædernes Bank and its mission as an independent bank are to serve as a serious, reliable and attractive alternative to the major banks in the Greater Copenhagen area for financially sound business and personal customers.

The competitive power of Forstædernes Bank is based on the quality of its personal consulting and service. The bank has no intention of being different from its competitors in areas such as prices, products and technology. On the other hand, the bank wishes to be different with regard to its conduct towards its customers. Competent managers and staff are the foundations of the competitive power of the bank.

President and CEO of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange Hans-Ole Jochumsen says: "We are pleased to see that banks from the Association of Local Banks, Savings Banks and Co-operative Savings Banks in Denmark also find it attractive to become a member of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange."
