Dubai Financial Market announced today that the value of shares bought by foreign investors, or non-UAE nationals, during the first quarter of 2007 reached AED17 billion, comprising 40 per cent of the total value of shares bought during the period.
The value of stocks sold by foreign investors during the first quarter of 2007 reached AED14 billion, comprising 33 per cent of the total value of stocks sold during the period. Net foreign investment on the market increased by 272 per cent to AED3 billion during the first quarter of 2007, compared to AED806 million during the first quarter of 2006.
The value of stocks bought by foreign investors during the month of March 2007 alone reached AED6.2 billion, comprising 41 per cent of the total value of stocks bought in March 2007. The value of stocks sold by foreign investors in March 2007 alone reached AED5.8 billion, which constitutes 38 per cent of the total value of stocks sold in March 2007. Net foreign investment on the market reached AED385 million in March 2007, compared to AED3.6 million in March 2006.
