FTSE Mondo Visione Exchanges Index:

Foreign Companies Will Be Included In The Copenhagen Stock Exchange's Indices

Date 16/03/2000

At the exchange board meeting yesterday, it was decided to make foreign companies constituents of the Exchange's indices. The amendment to the current rules will be implemented by 30 April 2000.

This means that foreign companies may be included in the KFX portfolio, which takes effect on Monday 19 June 2000. The selection of the companies for the KFX Index will continue to be based on the trading volume in the SAXESS trading system of the Copenhagen Stock Exchange.

The Exchange has not yet decided how to weight a foreign company in the index, however, the new method of calculation should only include a subset of the foreign company's total market capitalisation. In this way the Copenhagen Stock Exchange will be instrumental in avoiding overkill of investors in Nordic indices in respect of multi-listed companies.

On Monday 20 March 2000, new September KFX-contracts will open. Investors who wish to trade those contracts must pay attention to the above. As soon as the Exchange has decided on a model, information on such model will be published.
