Five Research Papers Awarded At 2026 SET Research Scholarship Project For Undergraduate And Graduate Students, Spotlighting JUMP+ Theme To Enhance Thai Listed Companies’ Value

The Stock Exchange of Thailand (SET) has awarded research grants and prizes to five outstanding research papers by university students under the 2026 SET research scholarship project, with this year's theme focused on the JUMP+ initiative. A total of 15 faculties from 10 universities participated, submitting 29 research topics.

SET President Asadej Kongsiri stated that SET is committed to fostering capital market knowledge through high-quality research support, encompassing research databases, research platforms, and research funding, marking its 13 consecutive years, with research themes evolving annually to reflect capital market developments. This reflects SET's role in creating opportunities for all stakeholders, in line with its vision, "The Trusted Gateway to Inclusive Opportunities".

"Amid the multifaceted challenges facing Thailand's capital market, strengthening the potential and competitiveness of listed companies to drive sustainable growth has become critically important. This year's research focuses on SET’s JUMP+ initiative, which aims to elevate corporate value through the disclosure of three-year growth plans across three key dimensions: enhancing business value, improving corporate governance, and advancing climate action. The award-winning papers reflect diverse perspectives and can be shared with relevant organizations for practical application. SET remains committed to supporting capital market research that benefits the sustainable development of Thailand’s capital market," said Asadej.

Five papers were selected by a panel of distinguished capital market experts, academic representatives, and SET representatives from 29 submissions across 15 faculties and 10 universities. The award-winning papers are as follows:

  • Best Paper Award and Corporate Value Enhancement Research Award: "When Does Debt Create Value? ESG Thresholds and Capital Structure in Thailand" by Jiraphat Chinkarn, with Associate Professor Dr. Woraphon Yamaka, Faculty of Economics, Chiang Mai University as an advisor.
  • Outstanding Paper Award: "Decoding the Finfluencer Landscape in Thailand using LLM-Powered Analytics" by Pantakan Bunleang, with Professor Dr. Sorasart Sukcharoensin, Graduate School of Development Economics, National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA) as an advisor.
  • Honorary Awards (three papers):
    • "Capital Market Implications of Climate Risk Exposure regarding Cost of Capital and Corporate Valuation: Evidence from Thai Listed Companies" by Puthipong Suksiriporn and Pakawadee Rattana, with Assistant Professor Dr. Papar Kananurak, The Martin de Tours School of Management and Economics, Assumption University as an advisor.
      This paper also received the Young Rising Star Award.
    • "Impact of Corporate Governance on Firm Value under Context of Fraud in Thai Capital Market" by Pruesaji Limsuwankesorn, with Associate Professor Dr. Panit Wattanakoon, Faculty of Economics, Thammasat University as an advisor.
    • "Corporate Rating Downgrade Prediction in Thailand" by Pongpol Wachiralappaitoon, with Associate Professor Dr. Nada Chunsom, Graduate School of Development Economics, NIDA as an advisor.
