FITR ETFs List And Begin Trading On The American Stock Exchange

Date 01/11/2002

The American Stock Exchange (Amex) today launched trading in ETF Advisors fixed-income trust receipts - FITR Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs). With expense ratios of 0.15%, the four new FITR ETFs include:
  • Treasury 1 FITR Exchange Traded Fund (ticker: TFT)
  • Treasury 2 FITR Exchange Traded Fund (ticker: TOU)
  • Treasury 5 FITR Exchange Traded Fund (ticker: TFI)
  • Treasury 10 FITR Exchange Traded Fund (ticker: TTE)
"The American Stock Exchange is happy to work with ETF Advisors for their premiere launch of FITR exchange traded funds," said Salvatore F. Sodano, chairman and CEO of the American Stock Exchange. "As the leader and pioneer of exchange traded funds, the Amex continues to offer a cost-effective value proposition to investors. With the new FITR ETFs, we are proud to expand our ETF listings to 125."

The ETF Advisors Treasury 1, 2, 5 and 10 year FITRs seek to track the total returns of the Ryan OTR Treasury Indexes representing the characteristics and returns of the "on-the-run" U.S. Treasury yield curve.

The FITR ETFs offer liquid, consistent maturity exposure to the U.S. Treasury yield curve. They offer a low-cost, no-load "index based" approach to investing in Treasuries that can be bought, sold and sold short like a stock.

"We are excited about beginning our relationship with ETF Advisors and we look forward to working with them to bring more products to market in the future," said Cliff Weber, senior vice president of the Amex ETF Marketplace. "These new listings will provide investors with targeted tools for investment, trading and hedging applications."
