Alternext, the Euronext market dedicated to small and mid-cap stocks, today welcomed its first UK business, Assima, and in so doing moved past the 60 mark for number of companies listed.
Assima launched a EUR 5.5 million private placement, allowing it to join Alternext through direct listing. Based on the admission price of EUR 5.60, the company’s market capitalization is EUR 37.5 million.
This new listing, the second foreign company from outside the Euronext zone to join Alternext after Italy’s Safwood in February 2006, is the market’s 41st since the beginning of the year, including 38 in Paris and 3 in Brussels. Altogether it has welcomed 61 companies to date, raising funds totalling EUR 420 million and setting market capitalization at EUR 2.6 billion on 13 October 2006.
UK-based Assima was founded in 2002 and publishes software for training and learning.
