Warsaw Stock Exchange: First Polish Capital Market Day In New York

Date 18/05/2015

  • The largest and fastest growing Polish listed companies will meet with top institutional and financial institutions at the Polish Capital Market Day in New York.
  • The meeting ensures international promotion of the Polish capital market and issuers listed on GPW.

The Warsaw Stock Exchange (GPW), Auerbach Grayson and Ipopema Securities organise the first ‘Polish Capital Market Day’ event in New York on 18 May 2015. This is a unique opportunity for U.S. investors and the media to meet with the largest and fastest growing Polish companies listed on GPW.

The event brings together 14 issuers: Alior Bank, Asseco Poland, Cyfrowy Polsat, Warsaw Stock Exchange, Integer, InterCars, KRUK, LiveChat Software, PGNiG, PKP Cargo, PZU, Synthos, Tauron Polska Energia, Work Service. GPW is represented by Vice President of the Management Board Grzegorz Zawada. The event will be opened by Andrzej Rzońca, Member of the Monetary Policy Council of the National Bank of Poland.

Polish companies have sparked vivid interest among US investors: more than 40 investment fund managers and representatives of financial institutions from 32 companies will take part in more than 150 one-on-one meetings. On the subsequent days (19-21 May 2015) company representatives will be meeting with investors in Boston, Chicago and Toronto.

The Polish Capital Market Day is intended to promote the Polish capital market, which has the fastest growing European economy[1], as well as issuers listed on GPW among international investors. Such meetings are arranged annually in London and they have become the world’s biggest conference devoted to the Polish capital market.

“We actively promote the Polish capital market among investors in different parts of the world. This January, we visited Hong Kong, and we see potential in presenting Polish companies on the Asian market. The Polish Capital Market Conference held in London in March was a great success and was appreciated both by international investors and participating companies. Today we organise the first Polish Capital Market Day in New York in partnership with Auerbach Grayson and Ipopema Securities. We are planning more similar events; we want to see how they impact interest in the Polish market. We promote among international investors both WIG20 companies and smaller companies with a growth potential. We are very glad to see that there is much interest, which also goes beyond the main index,” said Grzegorz Zawada, Vice President of the Management Board of the Warsaw Stock Exchange.

“This event offers an unparalleled chance for U.S. institutions to gain access and first-hand knowledge of the investment opportunities in Poland,” said David Grayson, Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder of Auerbach Grayson. “The Polish economy continues to outperform all other European Union economies, making it an attractive market for U.S. investors. We are proud to be participating in the first Polish Capital Market Day as we continue to facilitate international investment in the region.”

“In our existing co-operation with Auerbach Grayson, for whom we are the exclusive partner in Poland, we have seen growing interest of U.S. investors in this part of Europe. The Polish Capital Market Day in New York certainly provides a great opportunity to promote Poland as the most important market of the region and to further the activity of U.S. funds on GPW,” said Stanisław Waczkowski, Vice President of the Management Board of IPOPEMA Securities S.A.
