First Cypriot Trading Member On Xetra - Deutsche Börse Further Expands Its Electronic Trading Network - Increasing Attractiveness Of Trading In Russian Stocks

Date 05/04/2004

Deutsche Börse has connected NAM Holding Ltd., its first Cypriot trading member, to the pan-European trading platform Xetra. NAM Holding is a subsidiary of ATON Capital, one of the largest Russian investment banks. As well as engaging in proprietary and client trading, NAM Holding will also act as Designated Sponsor on Xetra for 12 Russian stocks from the Russian RTS-Index. This further increases the attractiveness of trading in Russian stocks.

The connection of the first Cypriot Xetra participant represents the latest move on the part of Deutsche Börse Group to further expand its global liquidity network. 700 participants from 20 countries now trade at exceptionally low cost on the world's largest stock exchange network. Around half of these participants are based outside of Germany.

Trading participants worldwide benefit from the flexibility and high performance of the Xetra system, and enjoy equal access to a broad-based, liquid and tradable range of products. At present, more than 10,000 equities, warrants, certificates and exchange-traded funds are traded on Xetra.
