On September 30, 2010 the first meeting of the Council for the derivatives section of the Moscow Energy Exchange took place.
As a result of the meeting the following decisions were made:
- basic principles of Council procedures were approved,
- measures to encourage trade between entities of the wholesale market for electricity and power were considered,
- launching of futures contracts in the 2nd price zone of the wholesale market was approved,
- Danov S.V. was elected as Deputy Chairman of the Derivatives Council (who is now Deputy Head of the commodity market division at OJSC RTS).
