FIA Responds To DOJ Statement On CME-CBOT Merger

In response to the Statement of the Department of Justice Antitrust Division on its decision to close its investigation of Chicago Mercantile Exchange Holdings Inc.’s Acquisition of CBOT Holdings Inc., the Futures Industry Association released the following:

“The FIA will continue to support policies and market structure that promote open and competitive futures markets, which we believe are in the best interest of customers. The Justice Department said in its statement today that it ‘looks forward to working with the CFTC on an on-going basis to ensure competition in futures markets.’ The FIA would strongly endorse those efforts.”
