The Futures Industry Association today announced the election of board directors at its annual meeting in Boca Raton, Fla. Following the election, the new board elected the association’s officers and public directors. All directors will serve two-year terms unless otherwise noted.
The following directors were elected as officers by the new board:
- Michael C. Dawley, Managing Director, Co-Head of Futures and Derivatives Clearing Services, Goldman, Sachs & Co., was re-elected as chairman
- Peter G. Johnson, Managing Director, Global Head of Futures and Options and OTC Clearing, J.P. Morgan Futures Inc., was elected as vice chairman
- Najib Lamhaouar, Managing Director, Global Futures, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., was elected as secretary
- Gonzalo Chocano, Managing Director, Co-Head of Global Futures and Derivatives Clearing Services, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, was elected as treasurer
The following individual was re-elected as a public director by the new board:
- Todd E. Petzel, Chief Investment Officer, Offit Capital Advisors LLC
Eight directors were elected to the board for two-year terms in the regular member category:
- Richard Boerke, Jr., Senior Vice President, Head of Chicago Futures and Options, Prudential Bache Commodities LLC
- Drew Bradford, Managing Director, Global Head of Listed Derivatives, Deutsche Bank AG
- Robert T. Cox, Managing Director, Head of Futures, HSBC Securities (USA) Inc.
- Laurie Ferber, General Counsel, MF Global Holdings Ltd.
- M. Clark Hutchison, III, Global Co-Head of Listed Derivatives, Morgan Stanley
- Jeffrey D. Jennings, Managing Director, Global Head of Listed Derivatives, Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC

Two directors were elected to fill the remainder of two-year terms expiring in 2012 in the regular member category:

Five directors were elected for two-year terms in the associate member category:

- Christopher Hehmeyer, Managing Member, HTG Capital Partners, LLC

- Edward J. Rosen, Partner, Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP
During the board meeting, the FIA board of directors approved the application submitted by Jefferies & Company to become a regular member of the association. Following the approval, Patrice Blanc, Managing Director, Futures Brokerage Division, Jefferies & Company was elected to the board for a two-year term.
The FIA’s board of directors holds elections each year at the annual meeting in March, with terms staggered so that approximately half of the directors are elected each year. In addition to John Damgard, president of the Futures Industry Association, who serves on the board ex officio, the continuing board directors are:
