Federation Of European Securities Exchanges (FESE) Key Statistics January 2007 – Bucharest Stock Exchange Figures Now Included

During January 2007, the value of equity trading of European Stock Exchanges was close to 1,733 billion EUR, this means a 25.5% increase compare to the same period last year. The equity market capitalisation of FESE Member exchanges has reached a record level of 11,654 billion EUR, above 16% increase in one year.

ETFs trading value in January 2007 was 46.4% higher than in January 2006, while the value of Securitised Derivatives traded was higher by 27.0%.

Bond turnover went up 7.0% during last month compared to the same period last year, totalling 911 billion EUR.

The number of derivative contracts traded has increased by 14.0% for equity derivatives and by 8.5% for bond derivatives during the last year.
