Extension Of Trading Hours At Oslo Børs

Date 28/06/2005

The Board of Directors of Oslo Børs has resolved to extend the trading hours of its markets. The new trading hours will be from 9:00am to 4:30pm, where the closing auction will end at 4:30pm.

Current corresponding trading hours are from 10:00am to 4:10pm.

The date from which the new trading hours will take effect, has not yet been decided. The decision to extend trading hours has been taken in close dialogue with the various market participants, and the implementation date will be fixed in cooperation with such parties.

“- It is a natural development for Oslo Børs to extend its trading hours, and to a greater extent harmonize the availability of the Norwegian market with what is common in the rest of Europe. There has been an increasing interest in our market from international investors and investment banks over the past years. This has also been a positive development for Norwegian parties, and we expect a further increase in market activity as a consequence of extended trading hours”, Sven Arild Andersen, President of the exchange, comments.

“ We see the need for this change. The intention is increased market activity, and will benefit all parties”, Per Broch Mathisen, Managing Director of Norges Fondsmeglerforbund, comments.
