On January 27, 2010 a new trading record was set on FORTS, derivatives market of RTS, during the evening trading session.
After the main trading session the market participants transacted RUB20.640 billion or USD681 million worth of futures and options contracts.
The previous record high was seen on July 23, 2009 when the trading volume during the evening trading session reached RUB19.065 or USD614 million.
The evening trading hours are from 7:00 pm to 11:50 pm MSK. This enables all categories of investors to realize various strategies and hedge their investments in Russian assets against sharp price movements in the global markets.
