From today data on the generation of electricity from solar energy will also be published on the joint transparency platform (www.transparency.eex.com) of European Energy Exchange AG (EEX) and the four German transmission system operators (TSOs), 50Hertz Transmission GmbH, Amprion GmbH, EnBW Transportnetze AG and transpower stromübertragungs gmbh, launched last autumn.
The information published daily comprises the following data for all four German balance areas:
- Forecasts regarding the expected volume generated from solar energy
(http://www.transparency.eex.com/de/daten_uebertragungsnetzbetreiber/stromerzeugung/erwartete-produktion-solar)
and - Information on the volumes actually generated from solar energy (http://www.transparency.eex.com/de/daten_uebertragungsnetzbetreiber/stromerzeugung/tatsaechliche-produktionsolar)
Reports on solar energy round off the fundamental data regarding energy generated from wind and other energy carriers (e.g. lignite, natural gas, run-of-river, hard coal, uranium, oil), which are already provided, and complete the representation of the situation in order to safeguard the comprehensibility of market pricing on a comprehensive basis. The information published regarding the generation of electricity from solar and wind energy, in particular, provides important indicators in order to make the integration of renewable sources of energy comprehensible.
The “Transparency in Energy Markets“ platform implements the statutory publication requirements in the field of generation and large-scale consumers, which resulted from the EU Regulation 1228/2003, and, in this way, combines these with the existing voluntary publications by power plant operators for the first time. By now, 14 companies from Germany and 2 companies from Austria are reporting on the platform. The degree of coverage of the statutory publication requirements for Germany is 79.26 percent. This degree of coverage is established on the basis of the ratio of the installed capacity reported on the platform to the total installed capacity in Germany of approx. 132,700 MW according to the 2009 Monitoring Report of the Federal Network Agency.
