Euronext.liffe Introduces New Market Model For Brussels

Date 18/01/2006

On 23 January 2006 an enhanced market model showing continuous prices will come into operation on the Brussels equity and index options market. This will improve its quality and add value for customers. This market model is based on the one currently operational in Amsterdam which has proved to be highly successful.

As of 23 January, tradeable bid and ask prices for all Belgian equity option classes in all series up to one year will be displayed on screen continuously, thus enhancing the on-screen liquidity. As a result, investors will have the opportunity to discover competitive prices throughout the trading day.

On-screen liquidity will be provided by the following market makers:
Delta Lloyd Securities N.V.
Madron B.V.
Timber Hill (Europe) AG
Wolverine Trading (UK) Ltd.

“The aim of this initiative is to bring the most successful characteristics of the Amsterdam market model to Belgian investors” said Alan van Griethuysen, Executive Director Sales of Euronext.liffe. “This adds value for customers and will enable investors to trade and hedge their portfolios more actively”.
