Carlyle Capital Corporation, an international hedge fund whose registered office is located in Guernsey, was successfully listed on Euronext Amsterdam today.
Carlyle, which invests in various types of bonds, raised a total of $300 million in new capital following the sale of 15.9 million new shares at an introductory price of $19.
Carlyle made use of the Dutch fast-track listing procedure that is available to international investment companies that have their registered office in Guernsey, Jersey, Ireland, Luxembourg or the US. Other international hedge funds that were listed on Euronext Amsterdam in recent months include MW Tops, Boussard & Gauvaudan, Volta Finance and Tetragon. Since January 2006, private equity and hedge fund listings have raised €10.8 billion on Euronext Amsterdam.
“We are delighted to welcome Carlyle to our exchange. Amsterdam has already successfully listed a number of international private equity and hedge funds, making Euronext the most attractive gateway to the euro market for these types of companies,” said Joost van der Does de Willebois, chairman of the Amsterdam market and member of the Management Committee of NYSE Euronext.
