Euronext: Uni-Invest N.V. Removed From Next 150 Index - New Composition Of Next 150

Following the official result of the takeover bid by the Consortium led by The Merwede Group and Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners for the Dutch company Uni-Invest N.V. (Next 150), Uni-Invest will be removed from the Next 150 index effective Monday 21 October 2002.

Following the rules of the Next 150 the removed company will not be replaced immediately, but at the next quarterly review (2 January 2003). As of Monday 21 October 2002, the Next 150 index will consist of 149 companies.

The Euronext 100 index and Next 150 index have been published since 2 October, 2000. They are constituted of the 250 securities with the highest market capitalisation, traded on the official markets of Euronext. In order to be included in the indices the securities must meet liquidity criteria that are specified in the rules of the indices. Euronext Indices is the compiler of the indices under the supervision of the independent Euronext Indices Steering Committee.

Euronext N.V.(www.euronext.com) was formed by the merger of the Amsterdam, Brussels and Paris cash and derivatives exchanges in September 2000. The Euronext Group has since grown further, adding BVLP (the Portuguese cash and derivatives exchange) and LIFFE (The London International Financial Futures and Options Exchange). The derivatives businesses of Euronext and LIFFE are being combined under Euronext.liffe umbrella. As of 30 Septembrer 2002, 1,506 companies were listed on Euronext regulated markets representing a market capitalization of EUR 1,364 billion. In 2002 volumes traded on the central order book have amounted to EUR 1,235 billion with which 532 million futures and options contracts makes Euronext the largest exchange in Europe.
