The migration of the participants in Brussels to C21® is a new step of the move to a single clearing platform for all Clearnet members. It follows the successful implementation of an updated version of C21® for the cash market in Paris on February 22, 2002. C21® will be used by all Euronext cash and derivative markets in Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris.
Clearing 21® is an advanced clearing system providing a standard for the CCP (Central CounterPart) industry. It is the only fully operational system able to clear trades in both equities and derivatives in real time while using a single tool and enabling multilateral netting of positions.
Clearnet is the clearing house and central counterparty for equity and derivative markets of Euronext Amsterdam, Brussels, Lisbon and Paris.
