Total value of trades made through Euronext Paris orderbooks during the month's 20 trading days came to EUR 99.83 billion. The busiest day was February 26 with EUR 8.89 billion, while the slowest was February 19 with EUR 2.596 billion.
Altogether, 7,321,206 trades were made through Euronext Paris trading systems during the month, down from 8,871,650 in January, setting the average at 366,060 trades a day.
The busiest day was February 14 with 422,198 trades, while the slowest was February 19 with 295,284.
February 2001 figures show a year-on-year rise, with daily trade value up from EUR 4.89 billion to EUR 4.99 billion, but the number of trades down from 467,504 in February 2000 to 366,060.
Four new companies were added to Euronext Paris regulated markets in February: Business & Decision and Itesoft joined the Nouveau Marché, Les Hôtels de Paris the Second Marché and Orange the Premier Marché.
On the new NextTrack Comparment launched in January, activity was up with daily trade value of Euros 34.16 million compared to Euros 29.16 million in January. Daily number of trades was up from 517,605 trades a day in January to 653,200 trades a day in February.
At February 28, 2001, market capitalization of French equity markets, including the Premier, Second and Nouveau Marchés, stood at EUR 1,475 billion.
