The latest survey by independent consultants PricewaterhouseCoopers confirms that companies making their market debut on Euronext over the first six months of the year raised EUR 5.3 billion, or 38% of the European total over the period.
With exercise of the greenshoe clause for the Belgacom offering and with the SES Global placement, the largest ever by a non-domestic stock on Euronext, the total rises to EUR 6.1 billion.
These have been followed by nine listings since July 1, bringing the total to date to EUR 7.7 billion.
Altogether, 29 companies have joined Euronext since 1 January 2004. Three of the five largest listings in Europe were on Euronext markets: Belgacom (EUR 3.63 billion, making this the largest single placement in Europe in the past three years), PagesJaunes (EUR 1.25 billion) and Snecma (EUR 1.16 billion).
