Euronext Brussels - Stock Market Trading In June 2001

In June, the BEL20 increased by 3.55% and ended the month at 2,885.03 points. The highest level was reached the 29th June with 2,910.71 points. The Brussels All Shares Price Index and Return Index closed the month with a rise of 1.63% and 2.35% respectively. Prices of some individual stocks took off: Ter Beke, Deficom Group and VMS Keytrade climbed by 22.66%, 18.50% and 17.51%.

On 29 June 2001, the market capitalisation of domestic stocks listed on Euronext Brussels amounted to 169.32 billion EUR. The five biggest companies represented 47.28% of the total market capitalisation i.e.: Fortis (20.99 billion EUR), Dexia (18.28 billion EUR), Interbrew (13.51 billion EUR) Electrabel (12.73 billion EUR) and KBC (12.57 billion EUR).

The total turnover during the month in review amounted to 4.32 billion EUR with an average of 16.02 million EUR per trading session. The highest daily turnover was reached on 15 June with an amount of 341 million EUR. The June total comprises 33.72 million EUR of traded warrants (or 176.57 million warrants traded).

Trading in June was focused on the shares Fortis 744.37 million EUR, GBL 486.72 million EUR, Delhaize 481.08 million EUR, KBC 318.83 million EUR and Interbrew 283.03 million EUR.

On June 29, Docpharma was listed on the double fixing Market of Euronext Brussels.
