Eurodollars On GLOBEX(R) Volume Hits New Record Of Over 1.3 Million

Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME), the largest U.S. futures exchange, announced today that its Eurodollars on GLOBEX® volume totaled 1,367,633 contracts on July 2, marking the fourth time this year that Eurodollars on GLOBEX surpassed one million contracts in one trading session. Friday’s Eurodollars on GLOBEX volume represented 55 percent of CME’s total Eurodollar volume.

CME’s Eurodollar futures contract volume continues to grow: second quarter 2004 volume was up 26% over second quarter 2003, and Eurodollars on GLOBEX grew to an average of 520,000 contracts per day during second quarter 2004 from 156,000 per day during first quarter 2004, an increase of over 300 percent.
