The derivatives exchange is launching a stock option on Epcos to ensure that all of the DAX® blue chips continue to form a part of the Eurex stock option segment. Epcos replaced Mannesmann in the DAX® on February 14. Due to the strong market interest in Infineon, Eurex will be introducing stock options on the company's shares on Monday, March 20. Infineon is one of the biggest new issues during the first half of 2000. The option on Intershop, one of the largest stocks in the Nemax 50, is being introduced in response to the wishes of many market participants.
Intershop has been showing above-average performance in terms of stock turnover and market capitalization. After the successful launch of stock options on EM-TV, Mobilcom and Consors in September 1999, Intershop is the fourth option on the shares of a Neuer Markt company.
