Eurex's Environmental Social Government (ESG) derivatives reached half a million traded contracts on 12 December, with a nominal value of EUR 7 billion. This milestone, which further demonstrates Eurex's leading role in this segment, was achieved shortly before the quarterly expiration date on which many traders have to roll their exposure.

Our index Total Return Futures (TRF) segment had a great year in 2019 in terms of traded volume. Compared to 2018, TRF's showed a 116 percent increase in volume with 3.6 million contracts traded. With more than 53 active members (34 in 2018) and an agency market share of 21 percent, the segment has shown in 2019 that it is an excellent listed alternative for implied equity repo trading.

The MSCI segment reached a new annual record of 20.1 million traded contracts in 2019 as increased buy side interest (now 27% of the order flow) is finding its way to Eurex.

Additionally, as of 6 December 2019 three additional MSCI Index Dividend Futures contracts are available for trading. The certified contracts include: MSCI Emerging Markets Index Dividend Futures (FEFD), MSCI EAFE Index Dividend Futures (FFPD) and MSCI World Index Dividend Futures (FWPD).
