Date 11/10/2000

The Eurex Exchange Council appointed Rudolf Ferscha and Michael Widmer to the general management of the exchange Eurex Deutschland on Wednesday, effective October 11, 2000. The Board of Directors of Eurex AG, Zurich, as well as the Supervisory Boards of Eurex AG, Frankfurt, and Eurex Clearing AG had previously appointed Ferscha and Widmer to the exchange's general management and the Executive Board on October 4, 2000. The other members of the Board are Otto E. Nägeli and Jürg Spillmann. General managers Jörg Franke and Andreas Preuss are both leaving, Franke at the end of the year and Preuss effective October 11, 2000.

Andreas Preuss is leaving the general management of Eurex Deutschland on the best of terms as of October 11, 2000. As of the same date, his activity as a member of the Executive Board of Eurex AG, Zurich, the Executive Board of Eurex AG, Frankfurt, and Eurex Clearing AG as well as his membership on the Management Commitee of a/c/e (alliance/cbot/eurex), the joint venture between the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) and Eurex, also end. Jörg Franke said "Andreas Preuss has played a decisive role in the worldwide success of Eurex. It is due above all to his efforts and commitment in setting up the a/c/e joint venture of Eurex and CBOT that the joint platform got off to such a successful start."

Michael Widmer has been a member of the Management Committee of a/c/e, alliance/cbot/eurex, since February 2000. Widmer comes from the law practice of Nobel & Hug, where he was active as a lawyer for banking, stock-exchange and business law in Zurich from 1996 to 2000; it is in this capacity that he was also involved in the creation and development of Eurex since 1997.
