ETFGI Reports That Assets Invested In The Actively Managed ETFs Industry Globally Reached A New Record Of US$1.82 Trillion At The End Of October

ETFGI, a leading independent research and consultancy firm renowned for its expertise in subscription research, consulting services, events, and ETF TV on global ETF industry trends, reported today that assets invested in the actively managed ETFs industry globally reached a new record of US$1.82 trillion at the end of October. During October the actively managed ETFs industry globally gathered net inflows of US$75.79 billion, bringing year-to-date net inflows to a record US$523.51 billion, according to ETFGI's October 2025 Active ETF and ETP industry landscape insights report, an annual paid-for research subscription service. Highlights

  • Global actively managed ETF assets reached a record $1.82 trillion at the end of October, surpassing the previous record of $1.73 trillion in September 2025.
  • Assets grew 55.2% year-to-date, rising from $1.17 trillion at the end of 2024.

The S&P 500 rose 2.34% in October, bringing its year-to-date gain to 17.52%. Developed markets excluding the U.S. advanced 1.69% in October and are up 29.83% so far in 2025, with Korea (+18.88%) and Luxembourg (+6.71%) leading the monthly gains. Emerging markets climbed 1.71% during October and have gained 24.50% year-to-date, driven by strong performances in Taiwan (+8.60%) and Hungary (+8.41%), according to Deborah Fuhr, managing partner, founder, and owner of ETFGI.

The actively managed ETFs industry globally has 4,354 ETFs, with 5,756 listings, assets of $1.82 Tn, from 629 providers listed on 46 exchanges in 36 countries at the end of October.

Dimensional is the largest active ETF provider globally, with US$243.56 billion in assets and a 13.4% market share. JP Morgan Asset Management ranks second at US$239.88 billion (13.2%), followed by iShares with US$106.74 billion (5.9%). Together, these top three providers—out of 629—account for 32.5% of actively managed ETF assets worldwide, while each of the remaining 626 providers holds less than 6% market share.

Equity-focused actively managed ETFs listed globally attracted US$41.54 billion in net inflows during October, bringing year-to-date inflows to US$298.07 billion—up significantly from US$158.73 billion at the same point in 2024. Fixed income-focused actively managed ETFs reported US$28.00 billion in October inflows, pushing year-to-date totals to US$196.67 billion, compared to US$111.90 billion by the end of October 2024.

Substantial inflows can be attributed to the top 20 active ETFs/ETPs by net new assets, which collectively gathered
$27.84 Bn during October. Akre Focus ETF (AKRE US) gathered $10.82 Bn, the largest individual net inflow.
