Over 60 members of the Swiss ETF community attended the ETF/ETP Roundtable, which was held for the fourth time this year on 4 December 2014. Attendees in the ConventionPoint of SIX included market participants working in the field of asset management and market making as well as institutional investors and financial journalists. Chair Michael Rasch (NZZ
) expertly guided the panellists Markus Fuchs (SFAMA), Marcel Aellen (independent advisor)and Rodolfo Straub (SIX Exchange Regulation) through the discussion on the topic of "Regulation - an overview".
The debate focussed on FinfraG, FIDLEG, CISA as well as MiFID II and in particular, their impact on the ETF/ETP distribution channels and the tighter regulations aimed at investor protection. Those participating in the discussion viewed the regulatory initiatives as positive to the extent that they benefit investors and help achieve equivalence with European regulations. Tendencies beyond these were dismissed.

After the successful redesign and four editions held in 2014, the ETF/ETP Roundtable is now taking a break for the winter.SIX Swiss Exchange will announce details of how the series of events will continue in 2015.
