The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) has updated today its list of recognised central counterparties (CCPs) based in third countries. Today’s update concerns the recognition of six non-EU central counterparties (CCPs).
ESMA recognised the following entities:
- Dubai Commodities Clearing Corporation (DCCC);
- Clearing Corporation of India Ltd (CCIL);
- Nasdaq Dubai Ltd;
- Japan Commodity Clearing House Co., Ltd (JCCH);
- BM&FBovespa S.A., Brazil; and
- Nodal Clearing LLC, USA.
The European Markets Infrastructure Regulation (EMIR) requires third-country CCPs to be recognised by ESMA in order to operate in the European Union.
