Epcos Replaces Mannesmann In The DAX On Monday

Epcos AG will replace Mannesmann AG in the DAX on Monday. Deutsche Börse made the announcement on Thursday. Before trading opened today, Vodafone Airtouch announced that by February 9, 11:00 p.m. (CET), 303,546,104 Mannesmann shares (60.3 percent) were registered for an exchange of shares. As already announced on Tuesday, Deutsche Börse will make the substitution of the two companies on Monday, February 14, 2000. Epcos will be added to the DAX with the Xetra closing price from Friday, February 11. STOXX and FTSE International will follow an analogous procedure. Mannesmann will be replaced by Epcos in the index without any adjustment of the number of shares in the DAX that are used for the weighting and without a 15 percent limit on any one stock. Neither will be applied until the next regular weighting adjustment on March 17.
