entory: Internet Access To Patent Data Of The European Patent Office - New Software For Efficient Research Into Patent Information

Date 18/11/2003

entory, a Deutsche Börse Group company, has developed an access function that makes patent data available to the public free of charge. The access function was commissioned by the European Patent Office. Via the European Patent Office's new Webservice OPS (Open Patent Services), companies that have applied for patents or wish to make use of patent information can research the Patent Office's databases INPADOC and esp@cenet. The Open Patent Service of the European Patent Office is one of the few examples of the successful implementation and commercial benefits of Webservice technology.

With the OPS client software developed by entory, companies can research and manage patent data quickly and conveniently. The software is installed at the companies' location and provides public access to the databases INPADOC and esp@cenet via the OPS interface at the European Patent Office.

Data such as the legal status of a patent, information on the expiration of a patent and detailed informed on patents that have been applied for, can be researched quickly and efficiently. Patent data can be queried, processed and imported into one's own systems via interfaces. The sofware can easily be integrated into the companies' own IT infrastructure.
