Date 28/03/2012

Endace (LSE: EDA), world leaders in network monitoring and visibility, today announced that Rob Atherton has joined Endace as vice president of corporate and business development.

Atherton comes to Endace with more than a decade of executive  experience in the networking industry. He joins Endace from Fortinet, where he served as vice president corporate and business development and was responsible for driving strategy and execution relating to mergers and acquisitions, global channels and strategic alliances. Prior to Fortinet, Atherton spent 10 years with Juniper Networks, most recently serving as vice president of corporate and business development. In his new role, Atherton will have responsibility for strategy and execution around strategic alliances, transactions, business development and global channel development.

“I feel very fortunate to be joining the Endace - the team is truly dedicated to creating industry-leading network visibility technology. I look forward to helping the company achieve its longer-term goals,” Atherton said. “For an ever-increasing number of organizations, the network is the business, and Endace is leading the way with the development of innovative systems that allow companies to efficiently and accurately monitor the largest networks.”

Atherton marks the second senior Silicon Valley add to the Endace executive team in less than 6 months, with former Juniper exec Spencer Greene joining in October 2011 to run marketing and product management.

“Rob’s proven track record of leadership and capacity to produce results is an invaluable asset to Endace,” said Mike Riley, CEO at Endace. “Both Rob’s and Spencer’s appointments reflect the company’s commitment to growth and investment in our global leadership in network monitoring and visibility space.”

Atherton will begin his tenure with Endace at the company’s recently-opened West Coast office in Palo Alto. Later this year, he will continue his duties at Endace’s U.S. headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia.
