At his annual Mansion House speech, the Governor outlined the findings of Huw van Steenis’ report into the future of finance and set out how the Bank will respond to this.
He said there’s a new economy emerging, driven by changes in technology, demographics and the environment. This new economy requires a new finance: one that serves the digital economy, is more efficient, inclusive, sustainable and resilient. And, this new finance demands a new Bank of England.
