We are delighted to announce that Emma Kalliomaki, MD of Association of The Association of National Numbering Agencies (ANNA) and the Derivatives Service Bureau (DSB), has been awarded the WatersTechnology Women in Technology and Data Awards 2024 for ‘Reference Data Professional of the Year’.
This award recognises Emma for leading the successful launch of the global Unique Product Identifier (UPI) Service to the OTC derivatives market, supporting G20 commitments to help authorities monitor systemic risk. Under Emma’s leadership, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) designated the responsibility of sole UPI service provider to the DSB in 2019 and, for the last four years Emma has directly led the work to design a utility model and system that serves the interest of all market participants.
Emma has achieved this by:
- Spearheading collaborative programmes of work with regulators, market participants and other standards bodies to design services that optimally cater for the needs of all stakeholders.
- Creating a new UPI Services and a reference data library that augments the existing DSB services for financial instrument identification, classification and description globally.
With responsibility for both the International Securities Identification Number (ISIN) and the UPI Services, Emma remains dedicated to delivering solutions that foster interoperability, data alignment and harmonisation.
