Emirati Women Investors Market Value Of Shares Reaches 18.8 Billion Dirhams By End Of H1-2017

The total number of Emirati women investors in Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) by the end of first half of 2017 reached 219 thousand.  Whereas their market value of shares by the end of the same period reached 18.8 billion Dirhams while owning 3 billion shares.  

Additionally, Emirati women investors’ total trading value (buy and sell) during the same period reached 2.7 billion Dirhams which is a %19.4 increase compared with 2.26 billion Dirhams during the first half of 2016.

“ADX management has worked intensively during the past few years to empower Emirati women in the Exchange, investors or employees alike. Our strategy in attracting investments quite diverse, bearing in mind that many portfolios managed by Emirati women investors have gained good profits during the past two years.”  Stated Rashed Al Blooshi, Chief Executive of ADX.

Al Blooshi also said that the high percentage of Emirati women workforce participation in UAE is due to the empowerment policy adopted by the wise leadership of the UAE, recalling many corporates and institutions managed by efficient Emirati women in UAE.

It is worth noting that ADX main strategic goals are to increase market cap and product range, attract & activate wider range of investors in the framework of enhancing the competitive environment for doing business and attracting investment into the Emirate in alignment with Abu Dhabi Plan and Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030.
