e-miNY Futures Contracts Set Record Volume

The New York Mercantile Exchange, Inc., and Chicago Mercantile Exchange Inc. (CME) announced that a record 2,921 e-miNY energy futuressm contracts traded today, compared with the previous record of 2,638 contracts on June 19.

A record 2,404 e-miNY crude oil futures contracts traded, surpassing the previous record of 1,939 contracts, also set on June 19.

The new e-miNY energy futuressm trade on CME's GLOBEX® electronic trading platform and clear through the New York Mercantile Exchange clearinghouse.

The contracts are 40% of the size of the New York Mercantile Exchange's standard-sized crude oil and natural gas futures contracts.

Since their launch this past Monday, e-miNY energy futuressm have seen the following volumes:

June 17 -- 2,483
June 18 - 2,372
June 19 - 2,638

New York Mercantile Exchange President J.
