Element22 is proud to announce that its Pellustro® cloud-based assessment and benchmarking platform supports the EDM Council’s Cloud Data Management Capabilities (CDMC) framework. The Pellustro® platform is optimized to assess risk, maturity, and compliance.
CDMC is a comprehensive assessment and certification framework encompassing business, operations, and technology best practices for cloud data management. The framework was developed over the last 15 months by EDM Council’s CDMC Workgroup, which includes Element22 along with leading financial firms, technology providers, and consulting firms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS), Google Cloud, IBM, and Microsoft. The Workgroup is chaired by Morgan Stanley and LSEG with project management provided by Capco.
The CDMC framework consists of six components, 14 capabilities and 37 sub-capabilities, allowing companies within all industries to effectively manage their cloud environments. The six components encompass:
- Data governance and accountability
- Cataloguing and classification
- Data accessibility and usage
- Data protection and privacy
- Data lifecycle
- Technical architecture
It is increasingly common for cloud implementations to face complicated data, technology, and operational challenges. The CDMC was created to:
- Assess these potential problems.
- Build a framework that allows industry participants to collaborate.
- Drive the adoption of best practices for cloud data management across all industries.
Pellustro®, with an established reputation for conducting DCAM assessments, will now administer CDMC assessments with its easy-to-use interface, proven ability to manage complex assessments at scale, real-time analytics, open API, and enterprise-enabled capabilities such as stringent cybersecurity protections and SSO. Pellustro® will also manage industry benchmarks on behalf of the EDM Council.
